Our first meet of the season will be on Monday, October 16th, at the Byron Middle School. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4:00pm with the eighth graders competing first. The bus will depart DLR and take the scholars to Byron. After the competition, you may sign your student out. Because we are picking up Mr. Beske in Oregon on our way to Byron, we will drop off after the meet in both Oregon and Mount Morris. If you have an Academic Bowl t-shirt, please wear it on Monday. Otherwise, normal school clothes are appropriate. If you have any additional questions, please contact us at school. We look forward to an exciting season of competition.

Academic Bowl has started and students are getting ready for their first meet. Academic Bowl is a Route 72 Conference activity where teams compete head to head to answer questions from all areas of knowledge including math, history, literature, science, fine arts, current events, sports, and popular culture. Contestans use a buzzer system to respond. Practices are on Wednesday afternoons after school until 4 and there is a shuttle bus back to OES. Meets are on Mondays with the conference tournament scheduled for a Saturday. Our first practice is Wednesday, October 11th, from 3-4 pm in the DLR band room. The only requirements to participate in Academic Bowl are to have a parent/guardian consent form turned into the DLR office and the district's participation fee. Please do not let the participation fee be a factor. We can help with tht. Participants will also purchase a DLR Academic Bowl t-shirt t keep. If you have any additional Questions, plese contact AB Coaches Beske or Nelson at DLR.

10 12 17 Rally Around the Pole

FCA met this morning in the Little Theater as a group.  They completed the bulletin board border for the group, welcomed some new faces to the group this morning and then Mr. Crandall read from Romans 8:1-7. When the meeting was concluded other students in the building were invited to join the FCA Club outside for their monthly "Rally Around the Pole". It was great to see so many students join in to particapate in a time of prayer and praise for others.
