Scholarship Opportunities

The Village of Progress Foundation is offering two scholarships to eligible high school seniors and college students.  Students can pick up an application by going to the Oregon High School Counseling Office. It is also available on our website at www.villageofprogress.org. Scholarship applications are due October 1, 2020.  Scholarship winners will be notified by the end of October.  Applicants can mail their application, along with their two letters of reference, to the Village of Progress (address is listed on the application) or email it to me in PDF form at This email address is being protected from spambots. The Masonic and Scottish Rite Scholarship is available in the Counseling Office, and online at www.freeportmasonictemple.org . There are 6 different scholarships on this application, and Masonic relationship is not required on 2 of them. There is also a scholarship for students planning on entering the healthcare field of study. Deadline is March 1st.

 

 

The Heisman High School Scholarship program honors the nation’s most accomplished, community-minded high school senior athletes.

TO ACHIEVE AWARD ELIGIBILITY FOR THE 2019 HEISMAN HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP, STUDENTS MUST BE SENIORS DURING THE 2020-2021 ACADEMIC YEAR, GRADUATING WITH THE CLASS OF 2021. APPLICANTS MUST:

Criteria For Application

  1. Students whose senior year of high school is the 2020–2021 academic year, graduating with the class of 2021.
  2. Students who have at least a weighted “B” grade average (3.0 GPA) during grades 9, 10, and 11.
  3. Students who participate in at least one of 47 Heisman High School Scholarship recognized sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee or the National Federation of State High School Associations.
  4. Students who have participated in volunteer service, community involvement or leadership within his/her school or community.
  5. Students who are a resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia (D.C.).
