OREGON, IL — Oregon Community Unit School District 220 is proud to announce that two of its administrators have been appointed to influential leadership positions within the Illinois Principals Association (IPA).
Ryan Huels, Principal of Oregon Elementary School, has been named State Director for the Northwest Region.
Shannon Cremeens, Assistant Principal at Oregon Junior/Senior High School, has been selected as the State Assistant Principals Chair for the IPA.
“These are not honorary titles—they’re earned positions of influence,” said PJ Caposey, Superintendent of OCUSD. “I’m incredibly proud of Ryan and Shannon. Their appointments reflect not just personal excellence, but a deep alignment with our district’s core values: the relentless pursuit of excellence, being people-centered, and acting with integrity.”
Ryan Huels added, “It’s an honor to represent OCUSD #220 at the state level. I intend to use this role to advocate for our staff and students and share the great work happening in our district.”
Shannon Cremeens shared, “I am honored and excited to be selected as the Assistant Principal Chair for the Illinois Principals Association. This opportunity allows me to collaborate with leaders across the state to strengthen school leadership and advocate for the success of all students.”
Caposey underscored the broader significance: “Now more than ever, public education needs bold, values-driven leadership. I’m proud that our leaders are shaping not only the culture and instruction here in Oregon, but also leading critical conversations and statewide improvement efforts.”
The Illinois Principals Association plays a critical role in professional development and advocacy across Illinois. With OCUSD leaders in these positions, our schools—and students—will have a voice in shaping what comes next.
