Today we celebrate Down Syndrome Acceptance throughout the district. Thank you to Crafty Nich for selling shirts (shown on the Oregon Hawk) and donating the proceeds back to our Special Education Department at OES.

Congratulations to 4th Grader Stella Drozd for being the FIRST 4th Grader in OES history to master every single song in the piano song book in Mrs. Davis’ Music Class. Stella demonstrated perseverance in mastering the music while also taking the time to encourage and help her peers.

1st Grade hatched chicks!

Mrs. Huels’ kindergarten class felt extra lucky today during our visit to Allure of Pinecrest for the Generations intergenerational program! We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day by creating shamrock wands and got a sneak peek at the chicks, ducks, birds, and fish that call Pinecrest home. These magical moments made us smile from ear to ear and filled us with the joy of springtime. We are so grateful for this special partnership and for Gingersnapps Photography, who continues to capture every sprinkle of magic!

February Leaders of the Month!

Today, Mrs. Huels Kindergarten class had fun connecting with the wonderful seniors at Allure of Pinecrest through our Generations Program. They shared smiles, laughter, and the joy of exploring together in sensory bins. From digging and creating to imagining and discovering, it was a perfect reminder of the magic that happens when young and old come together. A huge thank you to Gingersnapps Photography for continuing to capture these special moments and helping us cherish memories like these!

Thank you to NextEra Energy for the generous donation of brand new bikes to Oregon Elementary School. The bikes will be used for upcoming behavioral and academic incentives. We appreciate this generous donation to our students!

Elementary Students had a wonderful time spreading kindness at their Valentine’s Day Parties this week. Thank you to all of our staff who took the time to make it a memorable day for our kids.

The Junior Senior High School is conducting a safety drill and some of our families at OES may have inadvertently received a notification. This was just a drill across the street and the message was sent in error.

Thanks to the OHS Boys and Girls Basketball Teams for coming over to OES this week to spread some Hawk Pride as students arrived to school.

OES custodians rewarded several 5th graders today with cupcakes and soda for their hard work last week helping set up for the spelling bee.

2nd graders designed and created bugs to demonstrate their learning following their CKLA Knowledge unit

3rd Grade celebrated meeting their MAP goals while Kindergarten celebrated all they have learned through 101 Days of Kindergarten!

OES January Leaders of the Month! Students were selected for displaying positive behavior, leadership, kindness to others, and going above and beyond to make our school a better place! We are so proud of all of the nominees!

During the month of November in honor of Veterans Day, students at Oregon Elementary School conducted a coin drive. The students raised $824 to be donated to the Oregon VFW.

Mrs. Huels’ kindergarten class visited Allure of Pinecrest this past Tuesday. Together they enjoyed winter stories and created cheerful snowman crafts. There’s no better way to beat the winter blues than with friendly smiles and a sweet story shared together. We are so thankful for this special partnership and the connections being made across generations.
