Ms. Bella Doll has been with Oregon as an Elementary Art Teacher for the past three years. She is currently in a masters program, but besides that she enjoys hiking and photography. She says that there have been a lot of firsts for her here at Oregon, and that she loves getting to grow as a teacher alongside her students. Oregon has been her first teaching experience and she is thankful for all the support that she has gotten on her journey here. She states, "Oregon has been a very welcoming place for me as a new teacher and I've really enjoyed my time here so far." Overall her experience of Oregon has been amazing, and she says that she really enjoys learning about how much of an impact she has had on students not just in her classroom, but throughout the day. She also says she really enjoys when Mr. Huels puts on his costumes and dresses up for the kiddos. Ms. Doll would like her students to know "that they can make mistakes because we are here to learn. The power to learn is awesome, and not every day is going to be perfect so don't take anything for granted." Ms. Doll has been an excellent addition to our staff and we are proud that she chose us.

This past Tuesday, the students from Mrs. Huels’ Kindergarten class at Oregon Elementary School had the opportunity to visit the residents of Allure of Pinecrest in Mount Morris. Through this special intergenerational program, students and seniors come together to build meaningful connections and share joyful experiences.
It’s often said that a picture is worth a thousand words, and the shining smiles captured during this visit say it all. Hearts were full, laughter was shared, and friendships were formed — proving that age is no barrier when it comes to kindness and connection.
A heartfelt thank you to Gingersnapps Photography for volunteering her time and talent to capture these precious moments. Her photos beautifully reflect the spirit of Project Generations — where friendship truly knows no age.

Congratulations to 5th Grader Adalynn Blumeyer on winning the OES Yearbook design contest. Adalynn's design will be the cover of this year's yearbook after being selected from over 40 student submissions.

All 900 students and staff at OES created a hand print to create a mural to demonstrate that “We all have a hand in preventing bullying” as part of Bullying Prevention Week.

Our main hallway at OES is full of 3rd Grade Literacy Lanterns depicting students' favorite books.

Students in our second grades celebrated the end of their Ancient Greece Module by competing in the OES Second Grade Olympics!

We do a great job of celebrating staff in May during Staff Appreciation Week.
I’d love some help celebrating our great staff now in a similar fashion.
If there is a staff member or two worth celebrating, fill out this shoutout form:

I will pass them along to our team in a few weeks as we approach a busy week of Parent Teacher Conferences in Octobe.
Thank you for helping make their day!

We had a record turnout for our first Donuts with Dudes breakfast with over 200 grownups and their OES students in attendance. We had a fun trivia competition, shared with our students why we are proud of them, and had a discussion and activity centered around ways we can be respectful to different groups of people in our lives.
Thank you to all of the grown ups who took time to make it a priority to be here this morning.

Join us for our Trunk or Treat event on 10/22
