Families,
We have been in continuous communication with the Oregon Park District throughout their decision to pause the Extended Time After School Childcare program. They would like to survey our school community on the potential need for programming moving forward. See below a message from Mrs. Tina Ketter from the Oregon Park District with a link to a survey to complete.
Dear Parents,
The Oregon Park District and Oregon Elementary School are working together to evaluate the needs of families for after school care in our community. The Park District Extended Time program recently closed due to declining participation, and we want to ensure that any future programming reflects what families in the district truly need.
The park district would greatly appreciate your feedback by completing a short survey. Your input will help guide us as they consider how Extended Time may be restructured moving forward.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey here: https://forms.gle/KbAhcwMt36Wxq6UZ6
Deadline to respond: September 24, 2025.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Your input is valuable in helping everyone make the best decisions for families in the Oregon School District.
6th graders had a wonderful time today exploring the different experiments of Dr. Reed at Camp Lazear in hopes of discovering the cause of Yellow Fever. Students were assigned a name and acted as volunteers that took part in Dr. Reed's experiments. They showed impressive leadership and teamwork in navigating this activity together and sharing their findings and supporting hypotheses based on evidence in the text.

Hana Hinkle from the Daddo Project visited Mrs. Messenger's classroom for the first Story Stars session of the year. We appreciate the continued support from this foundation and providing books to our students.

OES continues to recognize students for displaying positive behavior with a positive phone call home and a trip to the Book Vending Machine. We are proud of all of these students for going above and beyond to lead by example.
