Over the summer, two new chair lifts were installed at OJSHS. These additions now fully meet the accessibility needs of our school.
As of this morning, both lifts have passed inspection, are in service, and operational training has been completed with the OJSHS custodial and maintenance staff. One lift is located in the Junior High wing, and the other is near the shop classrooms.
These accessibility upgrades were primarily funded through the School Maintenance Project Grant.

Congratulations to Daniel Gonzalez, senior at OJSHS. This past week, Daniel participated in the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Houston, Texas with the Rockford Fire track club. He competed against 80 runners in the 1500 m, finishing with a PR time of 4:06. He was awarded an 8th Place medal, reaching All American status. Way to go, Daniel!! #ItsGreatToBeAnOregonHawk

Check out our new tables in the OJSHS cafeteria! Over summer break, this space has been given a fresh new look to provide comfort and flexibility for our students. We're proud to continue making updates that reflect our commitment to a positive school environment at OJSHS. #HawkPride

We are proud to announce that Arianna Hammer, Class of 2025, has earned the State Seal of Biliteracy. Arianna is the first student at OJSHS to receive this honor since its launch.
The Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy is an award given to graduating high school seniors who demonstrate proficiency in English and at least one other language. It's displayed on diplomas and transcripts, and can be used as an accomplishment for college and employment.
Arianna will be recognized at the August Oregon Board of Education meeting for this recognition.
