We welcome OJSHS families to attend a College Fair on Thursday, September 24th, 6- 8 PM at Byron High School! Many great colleges and universities will be in attendance, as well as reps from our armed services. This fair is open to students from Byron, Stillman Valley, and Oregon Schools. Please see Ms. Haugh or the main office with questions!

OJSHS students are invited to take part in LSSI's Youth Advisory Committee.

Meetings are held in the foyer during lunches. All students are invited to attend. Participants receive service credit (30 mins/meeting) for being involved!

SVCC is hosting SVCC Impact Students to provide FREE TUTORING for high school students inside of the SVCC Learning Commons beginning September 3rd, 2026. Our new SVCC Impact Students will volunteer their time to tutor local high school students on Thursdays from 3:00-5:00 PM throughout the semester. High school students may request free tutoring in math, science, and writing assignments.

The SVCC Impact Student tutors have been carefully selected for this particular volunteer opportunity.

We want our families to have a voice in what’s happening at OJSHS and an easy way to connect with school leadership throughout the year.

Our first Parent-Principal Advisory Committee (PPAC) meeting of the school year will be held on Monday, September 21 at 5:00 PM in the OJSHS Library.

PPAC is an opportunity for parents and guardians to connect directly with our administrative team, hear about what’s happening at OJSHS, ask questions, share feedback, and help us continue building a strong school community for our students. All OJSHS parents and guardians are welcome to attend.

OJSHS staff had an incredible first day of school welcoming students back from summer break! Thank you to Harvard State Bank for sponsoring shirts for the district.

As a reminder, there are three main entrances/exits for students at OJSHS. Parents are encouraged to drop-off/pick-up students at the corner of 10th and Madison, or east of the school down Madison Street. For student safety and to support smooth traffic flow, please avoid any staff parking lots before and after school.
